Our stew meat is cut from the shoulder and leg meat of the lamb. It comes in bite size pieces and contains the perfect mixture of fat and lean. Pasture-raised lamb is delicious and full of nutrients that will enhance your health and quality of life.
We love making a classic lamb and potato stew using this stew meat. Our secret is to add a bit of our Ossabaw Island pork bacon for extra fat and flavor!
We also like to marinate the pieces of lamb overnight, sous vide them at 130°F for six hours, place them on skewers, and then crisp the edges up on the grill. A bit labor intensive, but truly the best lamb kabobs we have ever had.
Each package of Plumb Rocky Farm lamb stew meat weighs a pound which is enough for two to four people.
** Icelandic Sheep are a heritage breed. They are the oldest purebred lamb and have a more mild flavor than other breeds. Our pasture-raised lambs eat a 100% grass diet which results in delicious, nutrient-rich meat. **
